Luxury furrier Morecco launches for Autumn/Winter 2015 with a collection of must-have accessories featuring statement collars, mittens, shawls and driving hats.
Morecco’s AW15 collection is a celebration of colours, textures and materials fused together to form a unique and bold product range inspired by the architecture, spices, riads and customary dress of many journeys through the near and the Far East.
The labels unique twist on traditional accessories has resulted in iconic pieces for winter such as jewel toned lambskin longer length mittens with gold lame kidskin undersides, dramatic Beaver fur collars attached to sweeping oversized silk crepe shawls and quirky fur driving hats that fasten with contrasting silk ribbons and luxurious gold hard-wear.
Referencing from 1930’s style driving helmets, a blend of the classic and contemporary elements inform a range filled with alluring textural contrasts and a balance of proportions and inventive techniques.
Based in Lisbon Portugal, Morecco was founded by @joaomglhs who has an extensive background in design. Having cut his teeth at Central Saint Martins and Saville Row, the designer has paired this training with extensive world travel from slums to palaces, absorbing a variety of cultures and drawing influences from the jewellery, fabrics, landscapes, art work and literature. The brand has been supported by a close group of peers and collaborators who have helped to nourish the brand and shape the aesthetic.
Morecco is extremely proud of it’s Portuguese roots, with an emphasis on the quality of materials and production that is unparalleled. Lisbon provides the designers with a wealth of inspiration and a beautiful backdrop to create their luxe wares.
